What if the faith we talk about at church could help us live out our life? Join us for this five-week series as we talk about the core values of St. Mark, and see how each one helps us follow Jesus all seven days of the week!
Welcome! We want to learn more about you and help you connect here at St. Mark. A great first step for visitors like yourself is to have Coffee with the Pastors. Over coffee they will share with you about St. Mark, learn about your faith journey, and discuss what your next steps can be. Register in Church Center or click below for an upcoming Coffee.
Leave a legacy that continues the ministry of St. Mark for generations to come. When you include the St. Mark Foundation in your estate planning, you help ensure that worship, outreach, and compassion will carry forward long after we’re gone.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. To focus our hearts and minds toward Lent, worship with us on Ash Wednesday. We will celebrate communion and offer imposition of ashes at noon and 6:15pm.
Have you ever heard things about God, but not really felt like they applied to you? This Lent our group study is on The Expectation Gap by Steve Cuss, where we will learn how to engage God at a deeper and more fulfilling level. Pick up a book and join a group! Books can be purchased February 8, 15, and 18 outside of the Sanctuary.
Come hungry and come ready to support our youth! Beginning February 25, join us for our Lenten Soup Suppers. We will have delicious soups made and served entirely by our youth and their families as they raise funds for their summer mission trip to Memphis, Tennessee. Every bowl enjoyed helps our teens grow in faith, service, and leadership. Bring your family, invite a friend, and help us make these nights a huge success. Your support truly makes a difference!
Holden Evening Prayer was originally written during the winter of 1986 while the composer, Marty Haugen, was at Holden Village in the North Cascade mountains of Washington state. At St. Mark we use the simple Lutheran vespers service as we go through Lent.
The St. Mark Church Council has approved a job description for a Pastor of Outreach and Faith Formation, an important step as we prepare for expanded ministry and leadership in the seasons ahead.
One of the central roles within our Neighborhood Fridge ministry is that of a shepherd. Our shepherds monitor an email account for rescue opportunities as food becomes available. Shepherds then message the rescue volunteers to identify an available rescuer, and follow up with donors as needed to ensure a successful rescue. We’re looking to add more shepherds to spread out these duties. Let us know if you’d like to volunteer or have any questions: fridge.stmarkwdm@gmail.com.
The PrimeTimers will be enjoying a meal out at Trostel’s Greenbriar Restaurant in Johnston on Thursday, February 12 at 5:30pm. Register by Monday morning, February 9, if you wish to be on the reservation. Dinner will be ordered from the menu at your own expense.
St. Mark does not always receive notifications when one of our members is hospitalized. If you are in the hospital or know of someone who is, please notify the church office, 515-223-4208 or office@stmarkwdm.org. Our Pastors and Care Ministers are available to visit and provide support and prayers.
